Water Smartweed
Scientific Name: Polygonum amphibium
Description
Smartweed can be found in and along ponds marshes, streams, lakes and ditches. Interestingly the Water Smartweed grows both on land and submerged making it an ideal plant for areas with varying water levels. It is also useful for erosion control and food and shelter for various wildlife. Smartweed will produce a flower and will grow to heights of 40cm. We recommend that Water Smartweed be planted in saturated soil or in water up to 30 cm deep
