Description

Spike Rush can be found along the shorelines of streams, lakes and rivers. swamps, marshes, bogs, wet meadows and seasonal wetlands. It grows in saturated soil or slightly submerged and can withstand temporary flooding. The Spike Rush is useful for soil nutrient fixation, use as a natural filter, and it's vast root system can stabilize eroding shorelines. Spike Rush can grow to 70cm in height and will produce small flowers at the top of the stem. We recommend that it be planted in saturated soil or in water to depths of 45 cm.
